Job Purpose

Product Engineer specialized in new product development within the furniture industry, pivotal role in driving innovation and ensuring the technical feasibility of new designs. Primary responsible for developing and implementation of technical solutions and performing cost calculations to optimize product profitability.


A Glimpse of Your Daily Mission

  1. Product Design and Development:

  • Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create product concepts.

  • Develop and document product specifications based on customer requirements.

  • Ensure that the product meets the required specifications, is safe, efficient, and effective.

  1. Research and Feasibility Studies:

  • Conduct extensive research and feasibility studies to identify potential improvements or new product ideas.

  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to determine potential opportunities for growth.

  1. Prototyping and Testing:

  • Test product prototypes to identify and adjust design flaws.

  • Evaluate prototypes for durability, functionality, and compliance with safety regulations.

  1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all products meet safety standards and regulations.

  • Support testing and quality control checks to ensure product performance.

  1. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Work closely with design, production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that products meet customer needs and business goals.

  • Provide technical guidance to sales and marketing teams on product features and benefits.

  1. Production Oversight:

  • Oversee the manufacturing and production process to set standards and improve efficiency.

  • Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.

  1. Continuous Improvement:

  • Improve existing products to ensure they remain competitive in the market.

  • Implement changes in a cost-effective and timely manner based on comprehensive analysis.


Your Qualifications

  • Completed training in the field of mechanical engineering or a degree in engineering.

  • Experience in the field of wood and metal processing is desirable.

  • High degree of flexibility, personal responsibility and entrepreneurial action and thinking.

  • Very good CAD skills in 3D design, preferably PTC Creo

  • Familiarity with the use of a PLM systems (PTC Windchill / Bluestar)

  • Experience in working with atomization tools like Pro/Program / Sigmaxim

  • Confident handling of MS-Office

  • Familiar with the use of ERP Systems

  • Confident communication in English, orally and in writing


Travel Requirements

  • Willingness for occasional business trips in Europe, if necessary Asia.
