Job Purpose

The Supervisor – Bid & Design leads and supports bid, tender, design, and specification activities in collaboration with Sales, Projects, and cross-functional teams. This role acts as a trusted partner in translating customer workspace strategies into effective product and service solutions that enhance Haworth’s value proposition. The position ensures high-quality design outputs, accurate pricing, margin integrity, and on-time tender submissions while driving operational excellence, financial results, and customer satisfaction.

A Glimpse of Your Daily Mission

  • Supervise and collaborate with Sales teams to interpret tender and request requirements, ensuring clear alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Oversee the preparation of design concepts, product specifications, standard and non-standard configurations, including renders, space planning, and floor plan layouts.

  • Review and validate margin checks to ensure compliance with technical specifications, cost accuracy, and commercial objectives.

  • Coordinate with Haworth factories and approved third-party suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times for non-standard products and special requirements using technical drawings.

  • Act as a central liaison with internal teams such as Finance, Purchasing, Specials, Visualisation, Ideation, Sustainability, Supply Chain, and Project teams to ensure bid and proposal alignment.

  • Ensure the creation, accuracy, and quality of operational and maintenance manuals, product presentations, and tender-related documentation.

  • Govern the maintenance and archiving of drawings, specifications, and bid documents in line with document control standards.

  • Consolidate, verify, and approve all tender submissions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and on-time delivery.

  • Coordinate cross-functional deliverables and serve as the primary point of clarification for scope, timelines, and technical queries during bid and tender phases.

  • Lead mock-up exercises by developing mood boards, visual concepts, and high-quality presentation materials.

  • Oversee the development of visual and presentation materials using appropriate design and presentation tools.

  • Support and supervise electronic bid responses in collaboration with Global Account Managers.

  • Supervise coordination with Project and Life Cycle Service Managers on churn, reconfiguration, and service-related works, including proposal development and pricing.

  • Review and approve margin calculations and order documentation for projects and service works prior to order processing.

  • Act as an escalation point for Sales and Customer Service queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Coach, guide, and support Bid and Design team members to ensure consistent quality, adherence to standards, and continuous improvement.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum ten years of relevant commercial, bid, or design experience, including leadership or senior-level responsibilities.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, configuration tools, and Adobe design software such as Photoshop and InDesign.

  • Experience working with project matrix or equivalent systems and managing complex, cross-functional workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high attention to detail, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively under tight deadlines.

  • Strong coordination, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to supervise, coach, and guide team members.

  • Willingness to work overtime when required to meet business, project, and tender deadlines.
