Develops and refines product designs for new and existing products by applying engineering principles, design standards, and manufacturing best practices. Creates engineering models, drawings, and documentation to ensure products meet quality, performance, manufacturability, and customer requirements while supporting cross-functional product development initiatives.
Develop product designs of moderate complexity based on engineering requirements, project objectives, and design concepts while ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.
Create engineering layouts, 3D models, and detailed drawings using Computer Aided Design tools, primarily Creo, to accurately represent product designs.
Analyze product designs for form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability to ensure effective product performance.
Select appropriate materials, standard components, and engineering specifications for assigned design projects.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to obtain technical information, prototype support, material recommendations, and manufacturing feasibility feedback.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Orders, Bills of Material, parts lists, specifications, and related project records.
Provide design effort estimates, monitor project progress, and communicate status updates to support project timelines and delivery commitments.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, product analysis, and information technology teams to support product development activities.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to enhance product performance, quality, and efficiency.
Support prototype development, testing, validation, and implementation of design improvements.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related discipline.
4 to 5 years of experience in a design engineering or product engineering role.
Strong experience working with Creo for 3D modeling, drafting, and product design development.
Parametric modeling expertise is preferred.
Good knowledge of engineering design principles, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to develop and document product designs across multiple concurrent projects.
Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Material, Engineering Change Orders, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and development-oriented team environment.
Experience with SAP and Variant Configuration is an added advantage.
Knowledge of commercial office furniture, laminate and wood case goods, veneer products, or architectural solutions is an added advantage.
Travel may be required based on business needs.
