Responsible for supporting and managing database systems to ensure reliable, high-performing, and secure data environments. The role guides database design, implements standards, and collaborates with application teams to deliver efficient and scalable database solutions. Ensures proper database performance, availability, and recovery processes across systems.
Review and approve database designs to ensure performance, scalability, and best practices are followed
Implement new databases and modify existing ones based on business and application requirements
Monitor database performance and optimize queries and configurations for efficiency
Coordinate database changes during application implementations with proper controls and data protection
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in both testing and production environments
Define and maintain database standards, naming conventions, and development guidelines
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data safety
Perform database maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, and reorganizations
Support application teams with database-related recommendations and performance tuning
Participate in on-call support rotation to ensure system availability
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2)
Experience in database installation, configuration, and patch management
Strong understanding of database design principles and performance optimization
Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and minimize downtime
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience working with database standards and end-user applications
Exposure to Windows server environments and database patching
Ideally, you bring:

Willingness to travel to corporate headquarters up to two times per year, as required
